Today, in this article, I want to share with you my water fasting results I experienced last year, that I hope will inspire you.
I’ve never thought that one day in my life I would be doing a water fasting diet for a whole week.
For me, to only imagine I would be eating nothing at all a whole day was something really out of this world but when I did it, I didn’t die (luckily) as some regular people think.
Instead, I felt reinvigorated and healthier than before.

Why I Started Water Fasting?
Well, a few years ago, I followed a medium carb low-fat diet called the Weighless Program.
Personally, I won’t call it a diet. Instead, it was a healthy way of eating.
I ditched everything that contributed to my weight gain such as fast food, unhealthy salty cakes, deep-fried foods, and soft drinks.

Long story short, I lost 41 pounds in 7 months, which I know is slow for some people.
But what I loved about this low carb diet is that you are able to lose weight week after week without starving yourself.
That thing worked! Slowly but it worked and I was able to get rid of my 41 pounds of extra fat. I went from 76.7kgs to 58kgs and I have been sitting at my new weight for almost two years.
And then I started taking back some weight. Not because the program wasn’t good but I started eating some junk foods again…Shame on me I know!
So, I wanted to know how to lose that excess weight as fast as I could.
I started researching about the different and safe ways to lose weight fast.
I stumbled upon water fasting, also known as the zero diet. Frankly, it was a tough decision for me because I simply love eating, and to only imagine I would cut down on everything except water was a bit scary.
But this was the best decision I made to get back to my ideal weight again.
How I Started Water Fasting?
Firstly, I prepared myself mentally.
When you do something that drastic for the first time, you’ve gotta get prepared in your mind otherwise you could quit before you even get started.
I needed to be super conscious of the fact that I won’t be eating any food for a whole week
This was a huge step for me, for my health, for my weight loss progress and I was ready to take that big step.
On my very first day of fasting, I woke up, took a cup of tea, and then I started my routine for the day.
Fortunately, I work at home.
So, even though I felt a bit weak during the day, I could just take a rest and get back to work after.
I had 3 bottles of water ready to attack my very first day of water fasting. Basically, each time I felt hungry, I just had one or two glasses of water.
And then it was noon, time for lunch but I had to drink water only and I was proud that I didn’t even think about having lunch.
I started fasting on a Monday and the next day, I was down by 2.8kgs. And it went like this for the next days until I lost 10kgs.
I went from 67kgs to 57kgs in just seven 7 days. You can see the results in my cheeks HA!
My Water Fasting Results
One of the very super sensational feelings I’ve experienced after 7 days of drinking water only (besides weight loss) was that I felt reinvigorated. It was like I came back from holidays LOL
I was more energetic than before, I felt healthier and I was more motivated to exercise. So, after a few days, I started jogging for 1 hour every morning.
I didn’t crave for chocolates, pastries, or any of these stuff and was more focused on preparing healthy salads for lunch.
Since there was no calorie entering my body, my ketone bodies were getting higher and because of this, my body’s source of energy was not glucose anymore.
Instead, my body looked out for energy directly from my fat storage. Because my body was now in a ketosis state, I was able to burn fat much faster than a typical low carb diet. That’s why I lost 22 pounds in just one week.
During a fasting period, our liver is triggered to pull all toxins out of your body. And I could feel the improvement in my body and health although I have any health issues.
When your body is clean of toxins, your organism is like new.
As my body got cleansed during this week of fasting, I could really feel a boost in my energy level. I was more motivated to exercise and I started jogging for 1 hour every day.
It’s not something I can explain but I was way more productive, more focused, and more concentrated in my work.

Water fasting is a healthy and safe way to lose weight fast.
